Large enterprise volume, market demand is rising. At present, the demand and consumption of plastic products in many industries are amazing. Take the express delivery industry as an example, some data show that in 2018, the express delivery industry will consume more than 50 billion express waybills, about 24.5 billion plastic bags, about 5.3 billion woven bags, 5.7 billion envelopes and about 43 billion meters of adhesive tape. The packaging adhesive tape used in the express delivery industry can circle the earth 1077 times a year.

According to statistics, the production of plastic products in South China and East China accounts for more than 70% of the country's total, of which Zhejiang and Guangdong provinces account for more than 40% of the country's total output. Express business volume Zhejiang and Guangdong provinces as China's light industry manufacturing provinces, express business volume accounted for about half of the country's total rapid business volume.

The sales volume of plastic products reached about 75 million tons of 2016, with an output of 74.983 million tons. At that time, the production and sales rate was 97.3 percent. By 2018, the sales volume of plastic products was 58.552 million tons, with a production and sales rate of 98.1 percent. In 2019, the sales volume of plastic products in China increased to 76.991 million tons, with a production and sales rate of 97.2 percent, an increase of 31.5 percent over the previous year.

The annual production of plastics in China is 30 million tons, the consumption is over 6 million tons, and the amount of plastic waste is over one million tons, accounting for 40% of the garbage. For waste plastics buried in the ground as garbage, it brings great pressure to the cultivated land and farming areas in China.

In the past five years, the average recovery of waste plastics in China has reached 18 million tons, with an average recovery rate of 25.6 per cent. Because biodegradable plastics are close to ordinary plastics and environmentally friendly, it is expected to become the preferred alternative material and the new darling of the plastics market.

In recent years, there are few pilot provinces in China, which leads to the slow growth of consumption demand of biodegradable plastics in China.

Due to cost factors, China's biodegradable plastics need to be enforced. According to the production and supply of biodegradable plastics and import data in recent years, the demand for biodegradable plastics in China will exceed 500000 tons in 2019.

The main demand side of degradable plastics, plastic bags, lunch boxes, plastic film and express delivery industry and other packaging industry, degradable plastics market application scope continues to expand, of which the important application of three major areas accounted for a larger proportion of the packaging industry, accounting for nearly 60%, up to 53%, automotive agriculture and biomedical.

In January this year, the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment jointly issued the "Opinions on Further Strengthening the Control of Plastic Pollution", which strictly stipulated the scope of plastic products prohibited from production and sale, and promoted the degradability of plastic products. In July, the National Development and Reform Commission and other nine departments passed the "Notice on Solidly Promoting Plastic Pollution Control Work", further emphasizing the responsibility of territorial management.

With the implementation of China's plastic pollution quality policy, the regional policy refinement policies and objectives quickly introduced, the end of the use of plastic products will be quickly opened, the biodegradable plastics market is expected to open quickly.

The consumption demand of degradable plastics is only 1.43 million tons in four major fields, such as express delivery and take-out. If the average selling price per ton is 25000, the market size of degradable plastics in China will reach 35.8 billion yuan in 2025.
